Violin Bow Branded P J Hel Possibly By Bazin Charles Nicolas Bazin born April 24th 1847 in Mirecourt.
Responsible for producing a great many bows that were in much demand.
In 1869 Bazin established a workshop in Mirecourt.
He employed some of the most famous bowmakers. In early 1900's there were between 12 and 17 makers who produced 2 000 - 3 000 bows a year.
He died on 6th December 1915.
The round stick of pernambuco of a red-brown colour, silver mounted ebony frog inlaid with pearl eye, plain silver adjuster, silver face.
