The one piece back of maple of medium curl descending across the back from the bass down towards the treble. The ribs of similar curl, the pegbox and scroll of somewhat finer curl.
The two piece front of pine of medium grain in the centre broadening towards the flanks, inlaid with chevron purfling.
The varnish of a warm orange-brown colour on a yellow ground.

Original neck still bearing dowel in top block, original bass bar and saddle.
Front: Bass f-hole crack running down from upper hole, two cracks running down from lower hole. Crack running up from lower edge. Treble f-hole wing crack running up from lower hole. Some varnsih damage/wear in front of bridge.
Pegbox: Pegholes bushed.
