Viola English C.1750 The one piece back of maple of strong medium curl descending across the back from the bass down towards the treble. The ribs of similar curl, the pegbox and scroll of faint medium-broad curl.
The two piece front of pine of medium-broad grain.
The varnish of a rich warm orange-brown colour on a yellow ground. Label Reads:

Treble f-hole wing crack running up towards edge from lower hole, carck running down from lower hole and crack running up from upper hole. Crack in treble lower flank.
Back: Two small cracks lower treble flank near centre.
Ribs: Small crack in lower bass rib, small crack in treble middle rib near lower mitre.
