Violin Dutch C.1750 The one piece back of maple of medium-fine curl running horizontally across the back, the ribs of similar curl. The pegbox and scroll of less pronounced curl.
The two piece front of pine of medium-broad grain inlaid with whalebone purfling.
The varnish of a light amber-brown colour on a yellow ground. Label Reads:

Front: two small cracks upper bass flank, bass f-hole upper hole small crack, lower bass f-hole two wing cracks and some wood filling. Long crack upper treble flank, two other small edge cracks, some wood inserted under fingerboard in mortice.
Lower treble f-hole two wing cracks, one long crack running down to lower treble edge. Two other edge cracks running up from lower treble edge.
Condition good.
Back: Wood replaced beneth button, small crack lower bass corner, small crack and some filling lower bass near bottom edge right.
Rib: Small crack and fracture upper treble rib.
Pegbox: All holes bushed, small crack treble side between g and e peg and between d and a peg, small crack running on from a peg. Bass side patch to outside of pegbox between d and a peg.
