Violin Dresden, Germany C.1880. Labelled Stradivarius

The one piece back of maple cut on the three quarte slab of faint medium-broad curl slightly descending across the back from the treble down towards the bass. The ribs, pegbox and scroll of similar curl.

The two piece front of pine of broad grain.

The varnish of an orange-brown colour on a yellow ground.
